Armenian armed forces permanently fire at settlements and civilians on the Azerbaijani side of the contact line. However, the violation of the ceasefire by the Armenia is not a surprising fact, as armed forces of Armenia have made a habit of frequently firing at civilians on the Azerbaijani side of the contact line. Facts of deaths are inevitable.

The latest victim of the striking is a nine-year-old Azerbaijani child Fariz Badalov who was murdered by Armenian soldier, by fire from the village of Shihlar, occupied by Armenians in Agdam District.

Children are innocent, vulnerable and dependent. Their time should be one of joy and peace, of playing, learning and growing. Their future should be shaped in harmony and co-operation. Fariz Badalov, a 9 year-old Azerbaijani child who has been deprived from his rights might be the first but not the last

Yes! Article 6 of The United Nations “Convention on the Rights of the Child” which is the most widely ratified international human rights treaty also adopted by the Republic of Azerbaijan on 21 July 1992 provides that ‘States Parties recognize that every child has the inherent right to life.’

The “Convention on the Rights of the Child” declares that the essential needs of children must be protected even in times of war and in violence-ridden areas.

Remember that you have promised us, children, that you will work to promote possible ratification and implementation of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, work carefully to protect children from the scourge of war and to take measures to prevent further armed conflicts, in order to give children everywhere a peaceful and secure future. This is a cross line of our patience, because the death of an innocent child is unacceptable! This should be stopped before another child becomes a target of an Armenian sniper.

The death of a child who has become a victim of Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan is a call for all the international communities. There’s no guarantee that no more children will be deprived of their rights to live.

We want you, to undertake necessary joint commitment- a decision to end the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan before another child gets murdered and to make an urgent appeal.

We want to achieve justice towards Azerbaijani children who suffer immensely as casualties of war, aggression and foreign occupation.
